The B-Roll #4 🍷: The intoxicated hello

This is the fourth edition of my weekly newsletter, The B-Roll. Thank you for coming along for the ride.

Hi there,

It is currently 5:21 PM PDT on Saturday and the reason I'm noting is that I have spent the past 6 hours floating around in a pool with a drink in my hand. I'm not sunburnt but my nose is a little pink. I'm the most relaxed I've been in months and it's not because of the intoxication. It's because I allowed myself to unplug in a safe place for a few days. It's also a disclaimer on the status of this letter by the time I get to the end because there will be no editing happening. There are 12 other women in the AirBnB with me. I've traveled with some of them and others I met for the first time. I've known my best friend for 8 years and this weekend I got to meet her friend of 25 years after hearing stories for years. You know that you've reached a solid point in your life when you can have multiple friend groups come together as naturally as the different sides of your personality.I spent a majority of my life feeling I didn't fit in and according to society, I was destined to be the "different" character in a group. What I found in my late 20s and early 30s is that I will more easily find my people when I allow myself to let go expectations. I also finally let go of the "I can only be friends with guys" personality.***The first three editions of these newsletters have been pretty long-winded and I could go for a few more paragraphs diving into the philosophical sides of friendship but I'll keep it short and sweet.I hope you are surrounded by people who empower you to own who you are, never having to hide your energy in their presence.***

LANGUAGE CORNER: Don't gossip edition"

"Başkasının yalancısıyım" means "I'm someone else's liar" which is an expression used to gossip without taking any responsibility.

So, the way you use this phrase would be "[insert gossipy tidbit here] but I'm someone else's liar..."

Moral lesson of the The B-Roll: Don't gossip.
